The First Stops routine was an early routine created at the Savoy Ballroom as an ensamble routine.
You an read more about it’s creation in Norma Miller’s book “Swingin’ at the Savoy”.
It’s called the First Stops now in comparison the the Second Stops routine, it was originally just called the Stops routine.

This was taught at the event by Sugar Sullivan and Barbara Billups who were top competitors at the famous Harvest Moon Ball competitions in New York City in the 1950s.
